So I have no idea how I didn't get involved with this forum earlier - what a killer backlog of discussions. I'll be playing catch-up and seeing where I can add some of my unsolicited thoughts :)
I blog over at <a href="http://muselife.com/">Muselife</a>, and you can get me on Twitter at <a href="http://twitter.com/dvdwlsh">@dvdwlsh</a>
My name is Ian. I've been location independent now for a little over a year, and a year before that I tested the possibility for 6 months by relocating to a farm in the jungle in Costa Rica, which began my incurable addiction to travel. Last year I sold or got rid of every single thing I owned, and hit the road, starting with Central America.
I'm currently living in a cool little town in Northern Thailand called Pai. Which is like a lifestyle designers paradise if you 'work' online. Pai, for the time being, will most likely be my basecamp for a while and I will do my traveling from here. I find I like to stay in places for months at a time so I can take in the lifestyle and culture.
I started a blog (http://backpacktheplanet.com) to track my adventures a while ago, but find it hard to keep up to date on it, but I will eventually get back at it. I also have a lifestyle design / productivity blog (http://29things.com) that I usually keep more up to date.
I make my life possible through multiple web development projects. I do some freelance, but make most of my money developing my own direct to market web apps.
I've been a lurker in the lifestyle design community for a while now and read most of your blogs regularly. I am excited about getting involved, and participating more often.
Hey Ian thanks for coming out of the shadows! Let me know if you are ever in Bangkok and want to meet up for a drink or something. I have yet to make it up north yet, but am hoping to in the next few months.Becoming Location Independent is easier than you think...
